Eastgate, the location of the “east gate” to the old roman Manchester. Castlefield is now the new name but between the two descriptions the land has become populated by mills and navigation points first to enable trade and now a new income of new folk seeking homes with modern trades,
St George’s Church Hulme closed in 1983 but had for 160 year been the local Parish Church for many Hulme Residents including my own Grandmother.
Today the Church remains a popular landmark on the river Irwell that welcome visitor to the start of Deansgate and Manchester City Centre.

Dot Motorcycles Hulme Manchester, one of the original old buildings of Hulme that managed to avoid the slum clearances from the 1950’s and 1960’s.
Although production of the Dot Motorcycle ceased in the 1960’s the company is still here still supplying spare parts to the famous Motorcycles that are now distributed all around the world.
