Taken at Bury’s World War Weekend event in June 2012 hosted by the East Lancs Railway. The World War Weekend is a yearly event normally at the end of May that sees the local towns of Ramsbottom, Rawtenstall, Heywood and Bury host a series of World War events in full costume including a flypast by an original historic spitfire.

After weeks of rain the sun made a welcome entrance and for a few minutes it uplifted my soul, maybe spring was not so far away after all…Photograph taken of a church reflected in the flooded fields of the Fylde in Lancashire.

Early morning shot of one of Manchester’s older Public Houses, Peveril of the Peak built in 1829. The  “Pev”  is a fine example of a classical tiled CAMRA pub that has been in the same Swanwick family for over 40 years and long may it remain so.
