Ancoats is a district of old Manchester that was once the weaving heart of the city, it was home to the immigrant Irish and Italian catholic’s who took Manchester into their heart and their communities flourished.

Today  things are a little different, regeneration has taken over these now abandoned industrial mills and turned them into housing for the new generation of Mancunians.

Starlings are one of our most commonest Garden birds resident in the town all the year through. In the Autumn they are joined by huge numbers who spend the winter here. This is my Birds eye view of the Starlings at Walmersley in Bury Photographed over looking Burrs Country Park in the distance.

Originally the home of the Manchester Docks this area has changed dramatically through Urban Regeneration since its closure in 1982. The area is now home to the Imperial War Museum, The Lowry Art Gallery and the new MediaCity all easily accessed by Manchester’s Metrolink.

This is an early evening photograph capturing the BBC Buildings and the Lowry all enhanced by the beautiful colours of the Neon.

Autumn flowering Heathers line this old footpath that has been created out of recycled Burnley Bricks. The pathway is one of many in the Walmersley area .  This is a favorite view of Bury that I like to keep re-visiting taking photographs to see the seasons come and go.
