This week Autumn arrived. A heavy few nights of rain resulted in the leaching of peat into the local river and the first of the seasons leaf fall. I took this long exposure photograph whilst going to see the river, a day later we had the most impressive storm, when I returned I found a large tree had crushed these two small trees into the river – the power of nature eh

Winter flooding of the River Irwell 2015/2016 which left this old river bridge crossing buckled and broken. This long exposure photograph of wet, cold sad day certainly enhanced the mood in monochrome – hope it is fixed very soon.
The Ramsbottom Urn is a popular landmark at the Junction of Bridge Street and Bolton Road. The Urn is one of a series of Sculptures that a part of the Irwell Sculpture Trail that leads us down the route if the River Irwell.
