The winter of 2015 / 2016 was the wettest that I can ever remember, sadly this brought a devastating flood to Lancashire. I took this photograph during the floods of a beech tree being swamped, as a long exposure photograph it took on a “Chinese painting theme” to me anyway : )
Winter flooding of the River Irwell 2015/2016 which left this old river bridge crossing buckled and broken. This long exposure photograph of wet, cold sad day certainly enhanced the mood in monochrome – hope it is fixed very soon.
The Ramsbottom Urn is a popular landmark at the Junction of Bridge Street and Bolton Road. The Urn is one of a series of Sculptures that a part of the Irwell Sculpture Trail that leads us down the route if the River Irwell.
